Summary

• Title: Game Operator
• Hours: 7-15 per week, adjustable.
• Compensation: $18/hour to start, and then an expected raise to 20/hr once fully trained.
• Location: Providence, RI

Role Details

Game Operators are the face of Escape Rhode Island. You will be responsible for ensuring all of our guests have an exceptionally enjoyable and memorable experience, from the moment they enter our venue until the moment they leave.

Qualifications

• Genuine love of helping and serving others
• Confidence speaking in front of large groups of people
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to responsibly handle challenging situations and perform multiple tasks at one time
• Ability to quickly develop proficiency in new tools and technology
• Familiarity with and interest in escape rooms, games/puzzles, and/or immersive entertainment
• Passion for further developing our existing experience into an exciting and enjoyable time

Responsibilities

• Greeting players and briefing teams
• Providing useful and timely hints and encouragement based on your observation of players’ in-game progress
• Facilitating the end-of-game experience (debrief, team photo, etc.)
• Resetting games with 100% accuracy
• Making spot repairs/replacements when needed
• Maintaining a welcoming and clean atmosphere in our common spaces
• Curating and generating content for our social media pages
• Opportunities for further responsibilities, aimed at suiting everyone's strengths and skills best.

About Us

Escape Rhode Island opened its doors in 2015 as the first escape room in the state. Since then, we have built more than ten original games, and have been featured at several local conventions. We are continuing to innovate in the escape room field, and are currently navigating an exciting ownership and franchise change as we come into our new era.

About Providence

Providence, RI is a walkable New England city with a lot of character. Its parks, bike paths, and outdoor spaces showcase the city’s history and flourishing art scene, fueled by local artists and RISD students and alumni. The downtown area offers myriad restaurant and nightlife options, and the surrounding neighborhoods all boast tree-lined streets with coffee shops and bustling small local businesses.
